Course developer v1.png

The EDT4OL Course Developer badge is awarded to learners who demonstrate the ability to:

  • author a learning sequence in WikiEducator and
  • publish it to an online course website in WordPress using the snapshot process.

The skills and knowledge required to achieve the badge are gained through your studies and activities in three learning challenges:

Because the skills and knowledge from the three learning challenges will all be demonstrated in your final published course site, your outputs for these challenges will all be assessed together at the end of the course. You will therefore submit your links for all three learning challenges in a single submission box on the Authoring a learning sequence page on Moodle.

Your course facilitator(s) will review your submissions and award you an “Achieved with distinction”, “Achieved” or “Not achieved” grade based on the level of skills and knowledge you demonstrate in your published course site and on the quality and content of your blog posts.

In the case of Not achieved, your moderator may give you permission to re-submit if s/he is of the opinion that small improvements could result in a successful grade.

Submission instructions

  • Copy and paste the five required links into the submission box on the Authoring a learning sequence page in Moodle. (You will be asked to log in to Moodle if you are not already logged in.)
    • The links you provide for parts 2 – 5 must be publicly accessible links, to ensure that the assessors can view your work. Use the ‘incognito mode’ (Chrome) or ‘Private mode’ (Firefox) to check that users who are not administrators on your sites can access the links.

Your submission will usually be reviewed within two working days, taking the international timezone of the location of your facilitator into account.

On obtaining an “Achieved” or “Achieved with distinction” status for the five evidence requirements listed above, you will be awarded the EDT4OL Course Developer badge. Good luck!
