A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others.

In this section, you can think about and share what practices you consider fair and reasonable in the context of sharing teaching materials. What is ‘fair’ and ‘reasonable’ will depend on your personal perspective, experience, and teaching context. Your activity for this section is to complete a short online survey.

activity

'Fair and reasonable practice' survey activity

Purpose: To share your own thoughts and opinions about what permissions you think are ‘fair and reasonable’ in a teaching and learning context (not considering existing copyright law and intellectual property restrictions).

This activity is based on an anonymous survey to explore current knowledge and personal views about the sharing of teaching resources. As educators, we believe it is better to start by thinking about the permissions we feel are acceptable, before considering any constraints due to intellectual property rights. In addition, this survey explores access to and experience with a range of technologies. We will post and share overall results of the survey for all course participants.
