The <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/oerfoundation.org\/\">OER Foundation<\/a> has donated use of the <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/oeru.org\/about-oeru\/\">OERu&#8217;s<\/a> Moodle site for the purpose of this course.\n<\/p>\n<p>You have probably already used Moodle to submit your Acceptance Portfolio for this course.\n<\/p>\n<p>If you are accepted onto the course, you will use Moodle to:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Submit your learning challenges\n<\/li>\n<li> Track your progress through the course\n<\/li>\n<li> Complete the EDT4OL <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/certification\/knowledge-test\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Certification\/Test\">Knowledge test<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> Earn <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/certification\/digital-badges\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Certification\/Badges\">digital badges<\/a> and an EDT4OL <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/certification\/certificate-of-completion\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Certification\/Certificate\">Certificate of completion<\/a> to demonstrate your achievements on this course\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On this page you will find all you need to know about using Moodle.\n<\/p>\n<p><br style=\"clear:both;\">\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Enrol_in_the_EDT4OL_Moodle_course\">Enrol in the EDT4OL Moodle course<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The EDT4OL Moodle course is located within the same OERu Moodle site as the Acceptance portfolio page, but requires separate enrolment. To enrol, you will need to type in an &#8216;enrolment key&#8217; (a code made up of several letters and\/or numbers). <b>The enrolment key is provided in the acceptance email you will receive if you are accepted onto the course<\/b> following submission of your acceptance portfolio.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\" class=\"reference\"><a href=\"#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup>\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Go to the EDT4OL Moodle course by using this link: <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external free\" href=\"https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org\/course\/view.php?id=57\">https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org\/course\/view.php?id=57<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li>  On the <b>Enrolment options<\/b> screen that appears, enrol in the EDT4OL Moodle site:\n<ul>\n<li> Enter the <b>Enrolment key<\/b> that you are given in your acceptance email\n<\/li>\n<li> Click on <b>Enrol me<\/b>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Moodle_enrolment_screen_(EDT4OL).jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Moodle enrolment screen (EDT4OL).jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/8\/83\/Moodle_enrolment_screen_%28EDT4OL%29.jpg\" width=\"919\" height=\"394\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>We suggest you save the link to the Moodle site as a &#8216;bookmark&#8217; or &#8216;favourite&#8217; in your internet browser, so you can find it again easily. See <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/www.computerhope.com\/issues\/ch000858.htm\">How to create an internet favourite or bookmark<\/a> for instructions.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Log_in_to_Moodle\">Log in to Moodle<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Once you have created your Moodle account and enrolled in the course, you can log in to Moodle course again any time you want:\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Go to the OERu Moodle site, using the same link as before: <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external free\" href=\"https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org\/course\/view.php?id=57\">https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org\/course\/view.php?id=57<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> On the log-in screen (see image below), enter your Username and Password, then click on the &#8220;Log in&#8221; button.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:OERu_log_in_page_border.png\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"OERu log in page border.png\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/thumb\/8\/89\/OERu_log_in_page_border.png\/400px-OERu_log_in_page_border.png\" width=\"400\" height=\"259\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Find_your_way_around_Moodle\">Find your way around Moodle<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When you first visit the EDT4OL Moodle course, you will find yourself on the Welcome page, which will look similar to the screenshot below. The layout may be a little different, depending on your screen size.\n<\/p>\n<p>Across the top are &#8216;tabs&#8217; which take you to the different Moodle pages. The page that you are on is shown by a white tab (e.g. &#8216;H5P interactive content&#8217; in the screenshot below), and all the other tabs are grey. You can move between pages by either:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Clicking on the tab that you want or\n<\/li>\n<li> Using the link at the bottom right of each page, which takes you to the next page\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of the learning challenge pages contains a link to the relevant section of the course materials.\n<\/p>\n<p>On the pages for <i>H5P interactive content<\/i>, <i>Outlining a learning pathway<\/i>, <i>Developing a storyboard<\/i> and <i>Publish a learning sequence<\/i>, you will also find the place to submit links to your blog posts and other learning challenge outputs.\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:EDT4OL_Moodle_screenshot.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"EDT4OL Moodle screenshot.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/thumb\/3\/3a\/EDT4OL_Moodle_screenshot.jpg\/700px-EDT4OL_Moodle_screenshot.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"414\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Upload_a_link_to_your_learning_challenge_blog_post\">Upload a link to your learning challenge blog post<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In the course, you are asked publish a blog post providing links to the evidence produced in each learning challenge and a short learning reflection on your progress. These blog posts will collectively build a learning portfolio of your achievement:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/acceptance-portfolio\/outputs-portfolio-blog-challenge\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Portfolio\/Outputs portfolio blog\">Acceptance portfolio challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/learning-challenges\/interactive-learning-with-h5p\/h5p-interactive-learning-challenge\" title=\"EDT4OL\/H5P\/Interactive content\">H5P Interactive content author challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/learning-challenges\/developing-a-storyboard\/start-storyboard-challenge\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Storyboard\/Start challenge\">Developing a storyboard challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/learning-challenges\/outlining-a-learning-pathway\/start-outlining-a-pathway-challenge\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Learning sequence\/Start challenge\">Outlining a learning pathway challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/learning-challenges\/intermediate-wiki-skills\/intermediate-wiki-skills-challenge\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Intermediate wiki skills\/Challenge\">Intermediate wiki skills challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/learning-challenges\/snapshot-process\/start-snapshot-challenge\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Snapshot\/Start challenge\">Snapshot process challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/learning-challenges\/authoring-a-learning-sequence\/start-learning-sequence-challenge\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Authoring\/Challenge start\">Authoring a learning sequence challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To upload a resource for a learning challenge:\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Go to the relevant learning challenge page in Moodle, for example <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org\/course\/view.php?id=57&amp;section=3\">H5P interactive content challenge<\/a>\n<\/li>\n<li> Click on the relevant <b>Submit<\/b> link on the page\n<\/li>\n<li> Click the <b>Add submission<\/b> button at the bottom of that page\n<\/li>\n<li> Tick the honesty statement to confirm that the resource is all your own work, except where you have acknowledged the work of other people\n<\/li>\n<li> Paste in a link to your blog post and\/or upload your file(s)as required for that learning challenge\n<\/li>\n<li> Click <b>Save changes<\/b>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Track_your_progress\">Track your progress<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Moodle offers you the opportunity to keep track of your progress by using the <b>Completion progress<\/b> bar. This appears at the side or at the bottom of your Moodle page, depending on the size of your screen. It looks like this:\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Completion_progress.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Completion progress.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/thumb\/9\/9a\/Completion_progress.jpg\/400px-Completion_progress.jpg\" width=\"400\" height=\"43\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>Each small box represents an activity in the course.\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Hover your mouse over each box to see what it is\n<\/li>\n<li> Click the box to go to that activity\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Blue<\/b> means the activity is not complete yet\n<\/p>\n<p><b>Yellow<\/b> means you have uploaded a resource but it has not been marked yet\n<\/p>\n<p><b>Green<\/b> means an activity has been completed\n<\/p>\n<p>Completion is shown automatically for uploading your resources and the knowledge test. To indicate your progress through the nine learning challenges, you need to tick the box next to the link to the relevant learning materials when you have finished that learning challenge.\n<\/p>\n<p>For example:\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wikieducator.org\/File:Tick_boxes.jpg\" class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tick boxes.jpg\" src=\"\/\/wikieducator.org\/images\/2\/21\/Tick_boxes.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"135\" class=\"img-responsive\"><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>It is your own choice whether you want to tick the boxes next to the learning challenge links and keep an eye on the completion progress bar. Although teachers can also see your completion progress bar, it makes no difference to your success in the course &#8211; it is simply there to help you visualise how far you have got through the course and how much is left to do.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Take_the_knowledge_test\">Take the knowledge test<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>See <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/certification\/knowledge-test\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Certification\/Test\">Knowledge test<\/a> for information on how to take the Knowledge test in Moodle and earn your Participant badge.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Earn_digital_badges_and_a_certificate_of_completion\">Earn digital badges and a certificate of completion<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>See <a href=\"\/edt4ol\/certification\/overview\" title=\"EDT4OL\/Certification\/Overview\">Certification overview<\/a> for information on earning digital badges and a Certificate of completion through Moodle when you have successfully completed the course.\n<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Notes\">Notes<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol class=\"references\">\n<li id=\"cite_note-1\"><span class=\"mw-cite-backlink\"><a href=\"#cite_ref-1\">\u2191<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"reference-text\">It is assumed that you already created an account for the OERu Moodle site when you submitted your acceptance portfolio. If for some reason you do not have an OERu Moodle account, you will need to create one by following the instructions on the <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/course.oeru.org\/support\/faqs\/frequently-asked-questions\/how-do-i-register-and-log-in-to-moodle\/\">OERu support site<\/a>.
