This module introduces how everyday technologies can enhance your teaching, even if you have limited experience with digital tools. You\u2019ll explore how basic mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, and laptops can increase student engagement and support learning in practical ways. If you\u2019re new to using technology, this module provides a supportive starting point. Through hands-on examples designed for Pacific TVET classrooms, you\u2019ll gradually build confidence and develop practical skills to use everyday devices effectively in your teaching. Now that you’re ready to begin, here’s what you’ll be able to accomplish by the end of this module:\n<\/p>\n

  1. Identify standard functions on a typical basic mobile phone, such as a calculator, and use them to augment classroom teaching.\n<\/li>\n
  2. Identify basic functions on a typical smart phone, such as a translation app, a podcast, a game, and use them to augment classroom teaching.\n<\/li>\n
  3. Identify applications that will work on a tablet and how to find and select appropriate apps to augment your teaching, for example using the \u2018padagogy\u2019 wheel.\n<\/li>\n
  4. Identify resources that can be found online if you have access to a laptop e.g. build a lesson around a YouTube video or TedTalk, build a lesson around a streamed TV or Radio broadcast, find ready-made lesson plans, worksheets and activities e.g. at https:\/\/oercommons.org\/curated-collections\/612<\/a>.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
