For example, a test at the end of a section may be used for marks (summative) but the lecturer may also analyse it to identify which gaps and misconceptions need to be addressed in her future teaching (formative).\n<\/p>\n<p>The formative assessment activities you have built into your design can form an important part of an integrated summative assessment strategy. Rather than a single exam, consider an assessment strategy that consists of a set of activities that lead up to a final product. Each activity builds on the previous one. Each time, the student improves based on feedback from other students and yourself.\n<\/p>\n<p>The University of Minnesota offers some ideas for <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/cei.umn.edu\/support-services\/tutorials\/integrated-aligned-course-design-course-design-resources\/alternative\">thinking about alternative assessment strategies<\/a> that might suit your context.\n<\/p>\n<p>In the final activity of this course, explore for yourself how you can design an integrated activity or series of activities, that supports your students to learn through integrated summative assessment.\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"panel iDevice\">\n\t<div class=\"panel-heading idevice-heading\">\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"pedagogicalicon\" alt=\"activity\" src=\"https:\/\/pacificopencourses.col.org\/as4odfl\/wp-content\/themes\/oeru-course\/idevices\/Icon_activity.png\">\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div>\n\t\t\t<h2>An integrated activity<\/h2>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"panel-body\">\n\t\t<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>This is for a full completion badge\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> Choose a course, or a part of a course of your own.\n<\/li>\n<li> Using LibreOffice Writer, design a series of activities using assessment for, of and as learning in a subject area of your choice. You can use your own activity template, if you have one, or you can download this template as an editable file in the format of your choice:\n<ul>\n<li> <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/pacificopencourses.col.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/AS4ODFL_Integrated-activity-template.odt\">AS4ODFL Lesson plan template<\/a> (LibreOffice .ODT)\n<\/li>\n<li> <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/pacificopencourses.col.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/AS4ODFL_Integrated-activity-template.docx\">AS4ODFL Lesson plan template<\/a> (Microsoft .DOCX)\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li> Save the document on your computer, and export a PDF version of the lesson.\n<\/li>\n<li> Upload the document to the <a rel=\"nofollow\" class=\"external text\" href=\"https:\/\/moodle.oeru.org\/mod\/assign\/view.php?id=425\">AS4ODFL Moodle site<\/a> for approval by a teacher on this course. Give feedback to your colleague as well if they are willing.
